Game 5 Review

Still toweling off from SUN’s just awful loss. Take the 1/2 dozen non-calls/bad calls, fumble, lame defense and just plain horrendous luck and 0-5 is where we are...

I look at this...
WSH
@PHI - TNF
TBB - MNF
@WSH
PHI
CIN

That is six winnable games. IF we stick to our game plan.
The next two are critical back to back, SUN-THURS.,,
Need to get Shepherd back. Need to play up tempo like PIT a and LA did. Need to create a real pash rush. More of that soon....

Just wanted to point out we were right before tech bout Slayton...Danny Jones and it being a close game. Old school!

With all the COVID rescheduling it seems like it’s been  all week. Week 5 has two MNF and a TUES game now! All of this tests the soft belly of most rosters. Not us! No stars, no slack.
Our practice squad continues the theme of grunt inside runners and extra DB’s suggesting we are going to force DAL into 2nd & long spots and take away his deeper and intermediate routes...long field only where their turnovers and penalties can end drives quickly. On offense, we seem pointed to another 4-5 RB committee and get our 100+ through traps, counters and draws. I’d love to see that play out b/c it opens Danny Dimes to 5-6 deep shots to Slayton, who Dallas can’t cover. Engram is a decoy to me at this point. Waste your FS on him! 24 points wins this game. Can we hold them to 23 or are we choking up a 5th to these complete frauds? By far the easiest game on the schedule so far with a soft NFC East ahead in OCT. Please wake up. We need a W!

See everyone on SUN, 4:25pm @SomaBoy!

**AMPING Up**

It’s been an active week so I wanted to sort of invite/orient
people who wanna get the FULL - What Just Happened -
experience during and leading into the GAME itself... ??

You can follow my posts all week on @SomaBoy
I look at trends in the tech-verse about the Giants game plan,
play calls I expect, roster moves and any off-the-field noise.

On SUN, I switch into ?? savant mode and you’ll see me post very pointed opinions of how we nav the GAME. Feel free to comment, interact and make this more casual & communal.
I will help you see the GAME in a radically new way EVEN though it’s ‘old school’ ?? ... Tell me how I did after it’s over!

On TUES, I post a GAME REVIEW here to close the loop and get us ready for next week. The NFL is relentless so hang tuf!

I’m gonna start here. I’m Mark Filippi, a 55 year old kid who has been watching the G-men for over 40 years now. I see ??games from a very rare eye so what I take away from it the techies have to wait & see. When the game plan breaks down - turnover, injury, weather ruins a FG, bad call, drops... they record it, I absorb it as part of the bigger story of the game at large...
The simple way to profile a game is track three things...
# of possessions - 10 is good amount
# of short fields had/given - 3 is good
# points left on the field
Just knowing that in general helps you get in the coach’s mind more ...can we go 80 yards or play field position?
Whenever I sense that I riff in game, always have. Only now we have an ocean of pretty, but dumb stat pages that have no gut sense of the game. I can take a replay of a dropped TD and give you more than some receiving stat. No context, NBD.
As we enter Week 5, it’s a philosophical battle out there b/t the joy stick pass happy teams and the stick shift gunners. Our Giants are a N-S power team that can also be a bombs away vertical team. They need to align those to win ASAP!
